Our Story
Our Mission is to Create a Culture of Care.

For far too long workplaces have been engines of despair, not belonging.
Work is Evolving
A decade ago, mental health was rarely discussed in the workplace. Then the pandemic transformed our relationship with work, ushering in virtual and hybrid workplaces. Alongside these changes in norms and expectations, there is growing awareness for the need to support worker well-being. These rapid shifts, combined with mounting global crises, have left many leaders and organizations struggling to adapt.
Workers are in Crisis
In response to these challenges, U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy released a groundbreaking Workplace Mental Health and Well-being report revealing an American workforce in crisis. The data is stark: 76% of workers reported experiencing a mental health condition and 84% said workplace factors negatively impacted their mental health. This is a public health crisis spanning both public and private sectors, but disproportionately affecting frontline and essential workers who face unprecedented levels of burnout and stress.
Leading the Change
Over the past five years, Evolving Minds has been at the forefront of this emerging field of workplace mental health, talking with hundreds of workers to understand their needs. One truth has emerged: people want to be valued as whole people.
Many organizations lack the skills, resources, and knowledge to create people-first work environments. Dr. Murthy's report provided a comprehensive framework (see below), a roadmap for leaders and organizations to build healthy work cultures.
At Evolving Minds, we translated this framework into practical educational programs to help leaders and organizations build workplace cultures that positively impact people's mental health and well-being.
Since our founding in 2020, we have emerged as a leading workplace mental health nonprofit supporting the public and social sectors—from nonprofits and philanthropy to universities, public education, retail, and government.
Together, we can make workplaces engines of well-being.

Founder’s Story
Like many, our founder Anthony Sartori experienced the workplace mental health crisis firsthand during the pandemic.
OUR FOUNDER
Anthony Sartori
In March 2020, as he was founding Evolving Minds, Anthony was working part-time in a grocery store. He watched as constant turnover, rising stress, and heavy workload created a revolving door of coworkers—with no time or space to build meaningful relationships. As someone who deeply valued community, he experienced firsthand how a workplace culture that didn't support human well-being affected its people and the bottom line.
